Health & Safety Policy Statement

Gill & Joiner Access Ltd is committed to high standards of health, safety and welfare for our employees and for anyone affected by our work. This statement sets out that commitment and how we put it into practice.

  1. Section 01

    Our Commitment

    It is the policy of Gill & Joiner Access Ltd to promote and encourage high standards of health, safety and welfare (HSW) at work through hazard identification, risk assessment and risk reduction as an integral part of our overall business strategy.

    We will take all reasonable measures to avoid risk to employees and to other persons, including the general public, who may be affected by our work, by:

    • Providing and maintaining safe places of work, access and egress;
    • Providing sufficient suitable work and protective equipment to carry out the work safely;
    • Providing and maintaining plant and systems of work that are, so far as is reasonably practicable, safe and without risk to health;
    • Allocating sufficient resources (financial and otherwise) for health, safety and welfare.
  2. Section 02

    Responsibilities

    Our Director, Tanya Joiner, has overall responsibility for this policy and for ensuring that safety is given proper priority. Managers, supervisors and others assist through delegated responsibility in issuing instructions and setting a personal example in promoting this policy.

    Our employees are legally bound to co-operate in executing this policy and in ensuring that everything reasonably practicable is done to avoid and/or reduce risks, and that work is done in a manner that does not cause injury to themselves or others. The co-operation of everyone is vital for the success of this policy.

  3. Section 03

    Compliance & Discipline

    Any breach of this policy, or of any safety requirement, by anyone on sites or in work areas will be regarded seriously and may attract disciplinary action or the imposition of penalties.

  4. Section 04

    Information, Training & Supervision

    We will provide information, instruction, training and supervision so that work can be carried out safely, and so that hazards and risks, and the precautions and control measures to be taken, are properly understood.

    We will also seek health and safety advice as necessary.

  5. Section 05

    Monitoring & Consultation

    We will monitor this policy and workplace safety performance regularly.

    We will consult on HSW issues with employees and any other relevant person. We will consult and co-operate with others to ensure that HSW is maintained to a high standard, and that the activities of others do not prejudice the safety of our employees.
